CCCS provides a variety of counseling services and programs to help you reach your financial goals.
Financial Assessment: Meet with a credit professional to help you assess your financial needs and develop a plan to help you reach your financial goals. This service is available to anyone. There are no income qualifying guidelines.
Debt Management Program: This is a repayment program designed to help individuals gain concessions from their creditors in the form of lower payments, and lower interest and fees. This program helps an individual to repay their debt and avoid bankruptcy.
Housing Counseling: CCCS offers Pre-purchase Counseling for those wishing to purchase a home. Reverse Mortgage (HECM) Counseling is provided to homeowners nearing retirement. Mortgage Counseling/Foreclosure Prevention Counseling is available for homeowners struggling to make their house payments. Rental Delinquency Counseling is also provided for those having trouble keeping current with their rent.
Bankruptcy Counseling: Pre-filing counseling is provided to individuals who intend to file for bankruptcy. (please see education tab for Pre-discharge Bankruptcy education)
Family Financial Independence Program: A loan program of up to $500 is offered to income qualifying individuals.
Savings Match Program: A program for income qualifying individuals that matches money participants save.
Counseling fees: Financial Assessments –no cost, Debt Management Program –monthly administrative fee of $0 -$50 and a one-time set-up fee of $0-$50, Housing Counseling – no cost, Bankruptcy Counseling - $25. Individuals may qualify for fee waivers.
