Family Financial Independence Program

Sometimes a small loan can make all the difference. CCCS and Black Hills Federal Credit Union partner in this program for low-to-moderate income individuals and families. The program can help prevent homelessness, obtain funds for an emergency or a need, establish or re-establish credit, establish a relationship with a lender, and develop financial skills.

Income qualifying individuals who have the ability to repay the loan may be able to get a loan of up to $500 through Black Hills Federal Credit Union. Loan approval by Black Hills Federal Credit Union is based on need and ability to repay the loan, not creditworthiness.

Program applicants must complete a counseling session with CCCS and also attend and complete the financial education course Credit When Credit Is Due in the classroom. (please see Education  tab for class dates.)
